About Trade Basics

Trade Basics is an independent educational website for people who are curious about trading and are starting from zero. It exists because almost everything a beginner finds online is either an advert dressed up as advice, or written for people who already know the vocabulary.

What we do

What we do not do

How the site is funded

Trade Basics is free to read and always will be. When a reader completes the platform questionnaire and chooses to open an account with a trading platform through a link on this site, that platform may pay us a commission. This costs the reader nothing extra.

We say this openly because it is the one thing that could bias a site like this one. Two rules keep it honest: the lessons never push you towards opening an account, and the questionnaire result is produced by the answers you give, not by which platform pays best. If our honest answer is "do not open an account yet, practise on a demo first", that is what the site says.

Who writes it

Trade Basics is written and maintained by a small independent team. We are not licensed financial advisers, and we do not present ourselves as such. Everything here is general education, and it is on you to check it against your national regulator's rules before you act on any of it.
